I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. So much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also.
(Romans 1: 14-15)

The True Essence

At Christmas throughout the land we celebrate the birth of Christ. That in and of itself is unequivocal Good News! However, according to today’s standards “good news” is almost always about someone getting a new car, a job promotion, a wedding engagement, retirement, a new house, possessing millions of dollars, and the likes. This vainglory ideology has totally dispelled the true essence of Christ being born, what He did for all mankind, and our indebtedness to HIM.

I implore you in the spirit of this Holiday season, to please remember that we owe Christ; us! It is totally understandable that we can easily become side-tracked with all the buying, shopping, and parties. But we must never forget that God so loved the world, that He gave His son (the Christ) for you and me!!! And for that reason alone, I am compelled to say thank you!

The Good News

There is a higher principle that must be put in place in the life of every true believer, and that is to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Paul gives an exact replica of this in his self-acknowledgement & consideration to be an obligation to everyone. With everything he had in him and as much as he was able to do, regardless of his status, Paul had a personal conviction to share the truth to all mankind, being aware of his indebtedness to Christ for salvation & deliverance. Paul did not adhere to any boundaries set forth by the Jewish or Roman society that surrounded him. His heart was filled with compassion and was dominated by the truth that he allowed nothing to abort his movement even unto death!

So, in commemoration of our Lord and Savior (Jesus Christ) during this Christmas season, remember to pay Him – you!
