Be angry [at sin—at immorality, at injustice, at ungodly behavior], yet do not sin; do not let your anger [cause you shame, nor allow it to] last until the sun goes down. Ephesians 4:26

Anger is a natural biological indigenous behavior that will at some point happen in your life!  There is no getting around it.  For as long as I can remember I have heard people talk about and castigate people who get angry or rail against something that he or she did not agree with.  The good news is that anger controlled or managed is a great thing because it is an indicator that something is wrong and the respective person that’s demonstrating disagreement is highlighting that fact.

The thing is that anger should never rise to the point in your life that it causes you to act un-seemingly, out of control, in rage, and irrational.  Anger must be demonstrated in a way that it seeks out justice to right a wrong that has been committed.

Keynote, most people do not have the capacity to stop or pause and think why am I angry? is it worth me being so upset for? was a life taken? can I gain back was taken, damaged, or abused? And do my actions align to what God has called me to be.  This is a simple litmus test that can be performed at anytime by anyone to gauge if their anger is or moving toward being out of control.

The thing happens most often is that anger is released misdirected or misguided.  The scripture instructs the believer to be angry at the sin, injustice, or behavior itself.  Not so much with a particular individual.  I have come to accept that some people are not capable to living up to my expectations and they are who they are and that’s all they are.  God desires for man to have an abhorrence for sin and not for individuals.  Most important remember not to allow the anger to linger for days, weeks, months, or years.  By the end of the day “release” what has offended you…

Lastly, monitor your private thoughts, infected thoughts, and anxious to ensure that only the spirit which “should be” connected to God’s spirit is controlling your thoughts and influencing your behavior.  God has designed man to function as a trichotomy being.  Meaning that his spirit is controlled by God’s spirit, man’s spirit then controls his own soul, and then man’s soul will control his body (flesh, behavior, or actions).
