There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Romans 8:1-4
What a powerful scripture! Sometimes I think we cannot truly embrace this truth. Yeshua Hamashiach (aka Jesus Christ) has provided a way of escape from the ramifications of the sinful nature that we were born into. Today as we look at the resounding fallout of COVID-19, it begs a bigger question of, where are we as people??? In fact according to Isaiah 53:4-5, HE has borne our grief, and HE has carried our sorrows and pains, yet they [ignorantly] assumed that HE was stricken, stuck down by YHWH (aka God) and degraded and humiliated by HIM. But He was wounded for our transgressions; HE was crushed for our wickedness (sin, injustice, and wrongdoings). The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on HIM, and by HIS stripes [wounds] we are made Healed!
We do not have to live our lives bound by the chains of sin and this world void of joy and peace. We are children of the most High God. Christ has generously and lovingly done it all for us and placed it in our hands. With God, we will always prevail, yet we continue to struggle, living our lives miserable, destitute, complaining, worrying, and falling victim to every trap the enemy places in our path. We need to shift our focus to Christ. We have become so in love with this world, narcissistic thinking, privilege & power and inequality, that we have become disconnected from the vital sustaining Truth. The Truth that HE has already provided for all of our needs, HE has dismissed our past sins, and blazed a trail before us so that no situation or problem is able to overtake us.
My Prayer for Today
In the spirit of humility and unity we all must recognize what is really before us, what has been given to us and see that WAY that has been made for us. The Lord of All has done what no one can do or undo. But a choice has to be made as to embrace HIS love and gift of life everlasting or not. May we focus our eyes and heart upon HIS truth and it is there that we must stand, knowing that as we walk with HIM, there is no situation that we won’t be able to handle, no problem too big for us to overcome. May our soul continue to find peace and joy in HIS name.
