I. Giving Thanks (Psalms 69:30 & 31, Luke 17:11-17, John 8:29, John 9:31, and Rom. 4:12-25)

  • Praising the Lord is better than any animal sacrifice that can be offered up that of horns or hoofs.
  • Remembering to praise God for your healing and deliverance will bless His Name, and cause Him to grant you long life through faith.
  • God listens to him who worships Him and does His will.
  • God’s promise to man is only granted when we believe by faith unwaveringly and give Him praise & glory without ceasing.

II. Not thanking God can bring lack (Deuteronomy 28:45-48)

  • Curses will overtake you until you are utterly destroyed because you would not give Him thanks.
  • In bondage you will serve your enemies, you will walk in hunger & thirst, be in nakedness, and a yoke of iron will be placed upon your neck because you did not serve the Lord your God with joyfulness of mind & heart, and did not have gratitude for the abundance of all He blessed you with.
  • These negative signs will be upon you and your descendants to show others your rebellion.

III. Not giving thanks to God can lead to worshipping other Gods, and receiving a lie over the truth (Romans 1:20-32)

  • Since creation of the world God has always made His invisible nature and attributes, His eternal power and Divinity, clearly discernible through things made, so men would forever be without excuse of His Deity.
  • Nevertheless, through man recognition of God, he refused to give Him honor, glory, and thanks. Instead, he pursued his own thinking of futile things of this world, vain imaginations, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations which allowed their minds to become darkened. Yet claiming to be wise and smart they became simpletons of themselves.
  • God’s immortal excellence was replaced by images resembling man, birds, beasts, and reptiles. Because of rebellion vile affections were ramped up, men became attracted to men, and women normal functions became unnatural and abnormal ones. God turned their minds over to various loathsome acts: irate jealousy & envy, covetousness, greed, malice, treachery, ill will, secret backbiters, gossipers, slanders, haters of God, arrogance, boasting, inventors of new forms of evil, disobedience, despondent toward parents, minds without understanding, conscienceless, faithless, heartless, loveless, and merciless. Though they knew the righteousness of God toward man, they hard-heartedly elected all of the above mentioned evil acts over giving Him praise, honor, glory, and thanksgiving. Today what do you choose?
