“For the Lord GOD will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed. He is near who justifies Me; Who will contend with Me? Let us stand together. Who is My adversary? Let him come near Me. Surely the Lord GOD will help Me; Who is he who will condemn Me? Indeed they will all grow old like a garment; The moth will eat them up. “Who among you fears the LORD? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness And has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD And rely upon his God. Look, all you who kindle a fire, Who encircle yourselves with sparks: Walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks you have kindled— This you shall have from My hand: You shall lie down in torment.” (Isaiah 50:7-11)
During this current climate and plight, as we embark upon the Holiday Season let us not forget who it is that has blessed us and kept us amid the recent thrown hardships, trials, and perplexities.
I perceive humanistically that man has gone about his own way and has left his first love which is the unadulterated love God. Instead, many individuals have become lovers of self, power, and an incessant appetite for money in an overabundance (meaning enough is never enough). Therefore, the lust for power and money has grown so across the landscape that many have become blinded to controversial rhetoric and can no longer decipher what is from what is not. However, Isaiah reminded us in v.4 that the Lord had given him the tongue of disciples, that he may know how to sustain the weary with a “word”. Therefore, I as a disciple deduce this to mean in contextual times that all that proclaim to walk in the avenue of being born-again disciples should have a word to speak to those in their surroundings with a life sustaining word to them that have grown weary and downtrodden.
Moreover, Isaiah also conveys in vv. 7-11, that God will not allow you to be humiliated, put to shame, will declare you right, will prevent you from walking in darkness. But for those that light their own paths in life apart from HIM will lie down in torment. So, I encourage all that may be reading these words of encouragement, to love God with your whole heart, respect all of those around you even if you disagree with certain behaviors, give grace, compassion, and good-will toward those that may be in need.
Thanksgiving should be a time to give thanks for all that HE has given you, and Christmas should be a time to remember that Jesus Christ came to the world to introduce repentance and salvation to all of those that choose to receive it!
Prayer
Lord, I thank You for being all faithful and absolute if faithfulness. I believe that your encouragement for mankind is never ending and your mercy is new every morning. When we grow weary, please give us strength and ability to continue to do good, Amen.
