Being A Committed Disciple in Challenging Times

by | Apr 26, 2026 | Devotional |

A disciple is not above his teacher, nor is a bond-servant above his master.
(Matt 10:24 AMP)

The scriptures indicate that a disciple is not above his teacher, nor is a servant above his Lord.  Therefore, it should be understood in the current climate that no man or woman or boy or girl can be greater than the Lord Jesus.  It is apparent that many situations and temptations will come your way, but you must remain steadfast in HIM.

Today when we survey the current landscape there is all to do about AI, internet, mediums, media sources, google, and other social media platforms with immediate answers to what many propose that they are looking for.  However, I beg the differ that the aforementioned alternatives only give in part, and many instances in error because they are not fully supported by scripture or true inspiration from God.  It is clear that mankind is more narcissistic than ever.  Because of the vastness of thinking about self-first, and what seems good and feels good there lies the big misfortune to be Christocentric or Christ-minded.  I would employ all that may be reading this note to remember to place HIM first in all things, for all things, and thru all things!

In John 8:31-32 amp it states, (31) Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in HIM, if you abide in my word (hold fast to my teachings and live in accordance with them), you are truly my disciples. (32) And you will know the truth, and the truth will set/ (make) you free.  Therefore, to contextualize God’s omniscient word into today’s situation, man must be committed not to go astray in doing things according to rightness in his or her own eyes, but there must be a consulting with HIS scripture and the Holy-Spirit to guide you to “the” truth!  The complexity of challenging times and uncertainties have caused many to forget and remember that there is a resurrected savior that is waiting to point on the right way to go in all situations and to give rest for the weary soul.

So, as I conclude my note for this topic, challenging and perilous times should compel us to run to HIM and push into HIS word and lean not to one’s own understanding or advice from doctrines of the devil.  Intense times call for intense measures, and those measures should be God inspired, breathed, and led!
