Sometimes the question may arise about what a faith-filled life is or what does it mean to live a faith-filled life. There are so many that struggle daily to walk a life of faith. Moreover, to have a belief system into something that cannot be seen or as some may consider as an abstract concept. Others assume that being a faith person means simply that we believe in Jesus or simply being called a Christian. That in and of itself may sound okay, but the truth of the matter is that living a life by faith is alone, is living a life of unfeigned faith is a risen savior, and to trust HIM regardless of what the eyes see or the cognitive state experience. Below are five principles to help build a faith-filled life:
1. A Faith-Filled Life requires a steadfast mindset on the Word
A faith-life is a life that focus on the Word of God. The faith person believes what Hebrews 4:12 says: “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” So, the person of faith must take time to study and meditate on God’ Word daily.
2. A Faith-Filled Life causes one to believe beyond what’s seen
A person of faith may experience situations and circumstances that cause him/her to doubt the Word. But trusting in God’s Word is the ultimate authority to victory! This approach must be used for every situation—healing/sickness, prosperity/lack, peace/depression, joy/brokenheartedness. No matter what comes your way or takes place in your life, a true faith walk requires ultimate trust in God’s Word.
3. A Faith-Filled Life plumbs experiences/ideas by the Word
Many may think that truth is relative, that things can be considered somewhat related, but a person of faith knows better. According to the scripture, Christ stated that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of Lord. So, a person that lives by faith have to operate in God’s truth. A born-again believer cannot copy the behaviors and customs of this world but has to pattern life after the principles of God’s Word and the leading of the Holy-Spirit. The Spirit of God or the Holy-Spirit is a part of the Godhead which serve as the truth and a reminder of HIS established precepts and concepts.
4. A Faith-Filled Life is Active
Living a life of faith requires one to take action. This simply means a person of faith listens and obeys the Holy Spirit and whatever is revealed in the Word. So, as situations are created for revelation, the individual must obey without hesitation according to James 1:25.
5. A Faith-Filled Life Requires Remembering Covenants
It is so easy to remember the things in your life pre-salvation. Moreover, there is a grave difference between what believers possess post-cross versus pre-cross. Because of Christ’s sacrificial death we now have the right to operate in grace and not under the law as Paul indicates in the scripture. Therefore, a faith-filled person focuses on who he/she truly is because of a righteous rebirth. It is imperative to remember the work that Jesus did in his life on earth and after HIS resurrection. The person of faith recognizes that he/she is a new creation in Jehovah—in His image and in right-standing with the Father through Christ’s advocacy. This translates to total victory!!!
The question is, are you living a faith-filled life? A faith-filled life requires one to live life by the principles and parameters of the Holy Word. Also, it mandates that the believer live under the influence of the Holy-Spirit. There are many situations and complexities that occur ongoingly. In order to experience victory, possess a faith-filled mindset regardless!
